DDMY Studio worked together with Keiken as technicians for light design and sculpture design for their installation art, Wisdoms for Love 3.0.  

Keiken had used a game embedded in an online server in the exhibition room as the center of the concept. The game is a multiple-choice question game and is progressive/regressive in nature. The players are asked philosophical-related questions, and after each choice they make, the game moves the player a step further or backward, depending on the nature of their choice. The gameplay will be displayed on a screen with projectors in the exhibition room. Keiken wanted to take this a step further and display the change in data through sculptures and visual perceptions. 

DDMY Studio worked together with the Keiken team to sculpt many small spherical balls linked to one another by cables and cable casings. When the game begins, the first sphere at the start of the sphere chain will light up; when the player levels up in the game, the next sphere in line will light up, and so forth. When a player levels down, the last sphere to light up will be the first to go out, and so forth.  

Our team was able to accomplish this by connecting the server of the game to our database. Our database will then store the data from the game through the server instantaneously. The light balls are designed to constantly grab data from our database and update themselves, thereby allowing real-time data transfer between the online game and the exhibition system. The light balls will synchronize with the level of the game, causing them to glow and go out depending on the real-time situation of the player.
